Since its founding in 1988, interior spaces and furniture design have always been an extension of Maison Margiela’s creative core. Iconic objects such as bottle-shaped lamps, white cushions, dolls, and quill pens have frequently appeared in the Maison’s art installations, collections, and show invitations.
In its early ateliers, the brand famously wrapped everyday objects and furniture entirely in white paint—a gesture that blurred the line between function and abstraction. Maison Margiela also collaborated with furniture brand Cerruti Baleri for the Milan Furniture Fair, resulting in the now-iconic Groupe armchair series, distinguished by its minimalist form and pure white cotton upholstery, a testament to the Maison’s enduring fascination with material transformation and experimental minimalism.

This residential project elevates those very elements to a new realm: through the use of décortiqué deconstruction techniques, resin-filled white embossed details, and furniture shaped from classic travertine forms, it creates a visual language of disassembly and reconstruction.
Every corner of the space transcends mere living as each becomes a canvas that embodies the Maison’s philosophy, inviting residents to experience an unprecedented sense of ease and understated luxury.

Maison Margiela invited renowned Italian architect Carlo Colombo to co-create a bespoke furniture collection encompassing sofas, armchairs, tables, chairs, beds, and lighting fixtures. This collaboration extends the Maison’s core DNA of deconstruction, trompe-l’œil, and reconstruction into the realm of home design, transforming each residence into a living, dynamic art installation.
The same philosophy continues throughout the property’s amenities — including an art gallery, library, gym, infinity pool, spa, and a Margiela Café — offering a complete, high-end lifestyle experience. These features not only elevate everyday living aesthetics but also echo the Maison’s milestone interior projects, such as the L’Ile Aux Oiseaux hotel suite renovation and La Maison Champs-Élysées hotel design.
The launch of Maison Margiela Residences will coincide with the opening of the brand’s new boutique and Margiela Café at Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates, signaling an exciting new chapter and a growing number of cross-disciplinary possibilities for the brand’s future.
